International Justice Mission at http://ijm.org is an organization that works with the governments of various countries to put a stop to human trafficking or modern-day slavery. There are 27 million people each year forced into various types of slavery (brick kilns, sweat shops, sexual exploitation, child soldiers, etc). International Justice Mission not only helps these countries work against slavery, but they provide for the people who are rescued out of slavery and offer them medical attention, shelter, education, and restorative programs so that they may re-enter into society with confidence so they don’t fall back into slavery. They free hundreds of people each year and have worked at putting traffickers behind bars in order to seek justice for those who have been oppressed. I know two people right now who are in India working for IJM to help put an end to the vast oppression of slavery there. Please help and give freedom to others!
I chose to wear something SIMPLE because there are so many people who work in slavery that have absolutely NOTHING at all. They feel they have lost their entire lives. I want to support and give them new lives and help reach out to them. It is my heart’s desire to see these people who suffer hours and hours of anguish day after day to have LIFE!
