As much as I reference Amy Heckerling’s, Valley Girl on my blog, Clueless is my favorite of her So-Cal set teenage comedies. Not only did I memorize the film line for line (via VHS), I tried to emulate Cher Horowitz’s wardrobe for about a year and a half. The plaid blazer, and pleated skirt combo she dons in the opening scene, yeah, I had it in hot pink. Boo-yahhh.
I didn’t realize how “Clueless” I looked until I started editing these pix. Is this a good thing? The verdict is still out (since one of my fifth graders told me that she wished her mom would let her dress more like I do).
Initially, I was wearing a black & grey varsity style cardigan, but I lost it to mid-day heat. This ginormous scarf was in my backseat, and I opted to pose with it, instead. Consider it a sartorial bartending challenge of sorts. I suppose I wanted to see how many clashing prints I could wear, and still be a “do.” ;-)
Chictopia, I’ve missed you. My hiatus has a little something to do with my new (other) job, managing a household, blogging, socializing, and all those other life things that get in the way of interweb play…
xx
