Today was my day off from work, so I took the opportunity to head outside to take some photos. One thing that really surprised me upon returning back was the cold. When I left Taiwan, I was still dressed in shorts and a t-shirt!So I took out this Cape/Poncho for a test run to see if it would protect me from the cold.
Funny story about this poncho – I initially saw it in Shida night market during my very first week back in Taiwan. However, I didn’t buy it then because I didn’t have enough cash on me. I just took it to mean that it wasn’t meant to be. However, as the weeks went by, I realized that I would regret it if I didn’t buy this cape – especially because they seem hard to come by in the US. So on my very last night in Taiwan, I ventured out to the East District in Taipei, where I did find one – but it was selling for around $100 US Dollars, which made me frustrated because the first one I saw was around $20 US Dollars. In the end, my cousin took me back to Shida Night Market to purchase the cape, but we had to go into 5 different stores before we saw one, since in 2 months, all their merchandise has shifted around.
Thankfully we found it in the end though (for about $17 US Dollars), and my uncle gave it as a gift to me. Thank you! :)
