littlemissesme 's Thoughts:

My boyfriend and I had various discussions of our costume over the past month. Finally, after weeks of deciding, we both agreed on a masquerade costume; something that was achievable, cheap, creative, and something we were both happy with. We gathered around our own clothing from our closets. We went with something elegant yet very ball appropriate. I styled my hair very 1700s french inspired (in the photograph it doesn’t appear too high but it was about maybe 4-5 inches high), adorned with crystals and feathers. My boyfriend actually did the twists in the back of my hair (art majors…the things they can do!) My boyfriend wore formal attire with small accents of a pocket watch and a knee length homemade cape. With the masks, we bought simple plain masks as stencils for our shape and we added the burgundy velvet fabric, the gold trim, and we shaped extra sturdy material to create a long nose. Hope you like it :]
