It’s easy to be jealous of supermodel and actress Karolina Kurkova. Not only does she have legs that go for miles, but it seems her closet is just as lust-worthy. Whether she’s strutting on or off the runway or attending red carpet events, her style is always on point. She also embodies that often imitated model-off-duty look.
So while out and about during Paris Fashion Week last month, Kurkova was snapped wearing a look that can speak to those who love wearing classic pieces as well as to those who love mixing both edgy and contemporary pieces in an outfit. After going through hundreds of PFW street-style photos on Harper’s Bazaar, Kurkova’s look spoke volumes. Aside from the frilly yet awe-inspiring outfits donned by larger-than-life editors and stylist extraordinaires shuffling to and from shows, Kurkova’s sophisticated look stood out for being both polished and extremely wearable. This look can be worn to the office, for a dinner date, or even for a night out on the town.
Sometimes, the easiest and most simple pieces are the surest way to look effortlessly chic. This look is on trend yet very refined – it has both masculine and feminine touches. An oversized chiffon or silk blouse is not only a staple, but it is also incredibly versatile. It can be styled by itself, with a few bold accessories, or with rolled up sleeves for a hint of casual femininity. Luckily, there are tons of options at a variety of price points! Another key piece is the side stripe trouser. This tuxedo-inspired pant is a fantastic staple to have as well and can be easily dressed up or down depending on the overall look you are going for. An updated version, like this pair from ASOS, has cool zipper details in a mini check pattern fabrication. Plus, it’s currently on sale and also comes in petite sizes! Finishing the look off with a pair of heels that have contrast toe cap detailing will certainly ooze glamour and sophistication. I have a feeling this on trend piece will become an instant classic.
The look for less: Classic mixed with edgy/contemporary pieces
Keeping make-up to a minimum is also key since it transforms the look into a stronger statement. Simply add a swipe of red lipstick and it instantly makes the whole outfit come together. Topping it off – no pun intended! – with a fedora will add a hint of drama to the look.
