I saw this toddler garden gnome costume at target, and knew it was what I wanted to be. Unfortunately nothing short of a time machine was going to make it fit, so I did my own semi- DIY version. I bought the toddler costume, and cut it into shreds. I kept the hat, but added extension pieces to the sides to make it fit my adult sized noggin. I removed the collar, and sewed it to a thrifted shirt. I cut off the front and back suspender felt, and sewed them together to make suspenders that only cover my front and attached felt flowers (they look like fried eggs… or so people told me all night) to them. The shorts were actually high waisted vintage pants that I cut and hemmed for the occasion. Then I added polka dot socks, threw white talcum powder in my boyfriend’s beard, and we were out the door.
You may call me tipsy the gnome,
