I love when classic, retro statement pieces make a comeback into current fashion trends. Fun fact: sometimes I’m convinced that I’m a hippie in another lifetime. Love, music, fashion, carefree living–what happened to the simple, good old days? On that note, I often daydream of wearing a fabulous pair of wide leg trousers, until my 5’0 figure snaps me back into reality and discourages the idea.
When I first tried these gorgeous crimson pants on, I thought, “Gosh, where’s the love Forever21???” Can a 5’0 girl find a decent pair of pants these days? I still bought them, and of course it took me over a month to finally get them altered, but I’m no longer daydreaming of wide leg pants. I love that these trousers give me the instant feminine feel of a flowy maxi-skirt, without the restrictions of a skirt. Comfortably chic, to say the least.
Instead of pairing these pants up with the expected chunky platforms, I gave it a fierce twist with a pair of laced leopard print wedge booties. I continued the animal-esque theme with a reptile clutch, feather necklace, textured bangles. The whole textured look is topped off with a crocheted, fishnet sweater.
