Winter decided to give a forewarning of its freezing breath to autumn today. The wind bit and scratched at my cheeks, and turned them a rosy hue. But autumn fought back with its own resilient sunshine. And so the warm sun and cold wind did battle with each other all day long; for now autumn is holding fast, but the fact lags in the back of our minds that winter will come through without one shadow of a doubt. Just not yet. Seagulls came out to dance on the currents of frosty wind above the waves, silently gliding, floating, and swooping on the air. The wind pushed and tugged the clouds along through the sky, hiding the sun in the winter’s defense. But just as the wind pulled the clouds over the light, it pulled it away also, revealing the warmth once more. The day was hiding somewhere between autumn and winter…
It was somewhat weird to have to bundle up so much today…a scarf, tights, coat, and gloves?! It was crazy. Sure, I like chillier weather, but not quite as chilly as it was today. I do really love layering for this kind of weather, though.
