If you haven’t heard already, we are looking for new Chictopia’s Everybody Is Ugly editors with a healthy addiction to fashion, rad style, good writing and pop culture! Why write for EIU? Because EIU is awesome. Plus EIU promotes its editors, gives you the opportunity to work with cool people, attend cool events, 500 Chic Points per post towards redeeming free stuff in Chic Rewards, AND a chance to win a trip to New York fashion week (the top three editors come with us to New York fashion week with a travel stipend)!
We’ve already got an exciting team of contributors – the announcement will be made once we’ve filled the rest of the positions!
Here are the editor positions EIU is looking for:
The Beauty Editor must be a health nut and hair and makeup guru who follows the beauty industry closely. And you have to be willing to photograph yourself every once in a while. You can’t be a makeup maven and not show us your face!
The Shopping Editor knows where all the sales are at – consumer whore or not – you know what’s up. You’re the first person who hears of a designer collaboration with Target or H&M and the first person who finds out about a great online deal or an up and coming shop. Oh, and your wardrobe is KILLER.
Men’s Fashion Editor
The Men’s Fashion Editor knows the ins and outs of menswear— and isn’t boring about it. He has fun with fashion and is able to help other guys with styling tips!
The DIY Editor’s main weapon of choice is a glue gun. Not just crafty, but a stylish DIY obsessed person. You peruse P.S. I Made This and Honestly WTF on a regular basis, but gets your own inspiration and make some amazing DIY fashion projects! You must have a camera ready to take photos of your creations. If you follow high fashion, it’s a major plus.
We’re always looking for people who love to dress up, write, and have a strong, interesting point of view. If you think you’ve got something to contribute, apply!
All locations are tele-commute— that means we never have to meet in person! Haha, kidding. That means that we’ll have Skype dates and ‘till we meet, you can write in your sweatpants and no one will ever know! But we trust that our editors won’t be doing that.
If you think you fit the bill for any of these positions, send us an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with a writing sample, your blog URL or Chictopia profile (if you don’t have one yet, that’s okay), and tell us why you should write for EIU. Your e-mail must contain some form of a writing sample to be accepted— make sure it’s reflective of what you’d write for EIU. Applications will be rolling, but the sooner you send it the better!
