Maria_Elyse 's Thoughts:

“The days are now spent,
the sun is sighing,
the tears of the forest
are the leaves that are dying.”

{The Tears of the Forest, by Maria Elyse}

I’m pretty sure that I’ll be wearing these glasses I got at Target yesterday (for just $12!) paired with this red hat to death for a looong time… :) I also just got this satchel yesterday for $16! I’ve been looking for one for basically forever, and I stopped in at Claire’s, the store I was obsessed with when I was 9, haha, and I found it on sale. It’s not perfect, as I’d prefer it to be a tad larger and less caramel-colored, but it works for now.

While we were shopping yesterday, I was wearing basically this same outfit except with shorts instead of skinny jeans. Shorts with a long cardigan tends to look like you’re wearing nothing from behind, which can be really awkward…especially when creepy men keep walking around to look at you from behind. Gag. Excuse me as my face turns bright red and I dash to the nearest bathroom to adjust my clothing and gag some more. I know I was setting myself up for it by not being aware of how bad it looked, but still. I’m pretty sure I won’t be sporting my shorts-and-a-long-cardigan look in public again for a while… I honestly don’t mind getting stared at for my “odd” or “abnormal” clothing choices, but only when the clothing is what’s arousing people’s stares. Not the lack thereof. It makes me incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassed when people are staring at me and my body…as I said, if the clothing is making people look, then I don’t care, but if it’s my body that’s grabbing their attention, then to me that’s not good. Of course that can’t be helped to some degree, but at the same time I don’t feel like setting myself up for it with my clothing choices. (Sorry for that ramble! Just needed to get it out of my system.)

The weather finally turned colder, windy, and cloudy! It makes me so happy. The sun and warmth were starting to bother me, so I’m very thankful for the more grey weather now. :)

I hope you all are having a lovely weekend!
