Fall 10.5.11

I could smell it on the crisp, cool breeze that sweeps up already-fallen leaves, then scatters them into puddles, formed after the overnight rain that scrubbed the earth clean. Chill nipped my bare hands, sending the first shivers of the season zipping up my spine. I sloshed my way to school, all the while wishing I could curl up in bed with a nice novel, a fleece blanket and a hot cup of tea.

Today it finally felt like fall.
