One of my favourite trends to hit the fashion conscious world is the 1940s trend. I’ve always loved tea dresses and utility wear because it all fits in with my vintage style of dressing. I like to mix the old with the new and the battered with the embellished. I chose this 1940’s style, very preppy tea dress a few months ago at Darimeya, who has a cute little boutique in Carnaby Street, London. I love the cool mint green delicate chiffon fabric complemented with the bright gold buttons. The shape is very flattering with the mid length sleeves on a shirt bodice which flows into a pleated skirt. I think this is one of my favourite dresses I’ve ever bought. The colour, shape and style make it a timeless piece I can always have in my wardrobe. Lovely.
I’ve styled this dress with grey sheer tights because we’re starting to feel the autumn nip now and I’ve kept with the 1940’s glam theme with a pearl embellished headband. Heals were my first choice but instead I opted for my trusty black patent loafers!
