These are our outfits for the first day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York with Chictopia’s Everybody Is Ugly! Sorry we didn’t get to post outfits throughout the trip (we totally lost track of time and forgot to take a lot of photos, so we’ll probably only have two outfit pictures from the trip but we might retake them just for the blog!). We had an amazing time there! Be sure to check out all of our coverage of the Spring/Summer 2012 shows on EIU.
Daniel Iris actually chose this outfit for me so I don’t have too much to say about it hahaha. My only contribution was this pink plastic clutch (I used a green one in our last post) where Iris suggested using a clear one. I thought that the bold color would give some kick to the mostly neutral outfit. She chose well though, since I love the mixture of super-casual (baseball cap and sweater) with dressier pieces (button up, slack-shorts, plastic clutch) and in styling that goes a bit schoolboy with the addition of my oxford Dr. Martens. I’ve been wearing these shoes non-stop for school, so comfortable!
Iris I’ve been wanting a polo for kinda a while now and I found this gray one in my Mom’s closet! I love the trim on the collar (which you can’t even see, haha). I decided to wear it with my favorite gray dress and add color through my red tights and salmon-coral colored bauble necklace. I think the outfit looks like a school uniform and office wear mixed into one, which is basically my most favorite thing ever. I chose the bag since it has a similar pattern/texture to the pleats on my dress. I took the strap off so it could be a clutch.
