Stacey Bendet is the master when it comes to fun fashion. Like walking into a daydream, the Alice + Olivia Spring/Summer 2012 presentation was full of fanciful late afternoon attire. Every girl’s dream secret garden was brought to life. Set up with bird cages over top, flowers and trees in full bloom with shoes, and pretty white lacquered tables and chairs, along with the sounds of DJ Mia Moretti spinning and an endless sea of cupcakes, drinks and coffee being served, Bendet was able to recreate her version of the secret garden with her signature girlish charm.
Here were some standout looks from the Alice + Olivia Spring/Summer 2012 collection:
1960’s Queen
The spring collection would be nothing without a vintage touch. The bold color palette, which consisted of sky blue eyeshadows and nails, pink, orange, red and yellow, was reminiscent of 1960’s fashion. Mod styles included shift dresses, two-toned dresses, big chunky belts, round 60’s style sunglasses and floppy hats. One standout look was a red sequined dress with a matching red floppy hat.
Fun Accessories
Almost every girl seen in the presentation had on one very important thing and that was a big voluminous hair bun. Going with the 1960’s vintage queen theme, the hair and accessories were down to a T—big shiny belts, broches, flower hair pieces, floppy hats and large framed sunglasses. The spring presentation also featured Bendet’s first-ever shoe collection which consisted of pretty glittery heels and shiny pink Mary Jane pumps.
Garden Party
The garden party theme showed in all of the dresses of the spring collection. Every floral print piece was perfect for afternoon tea with off the shoulder dresses and high waisted floral printed skirts. Paired with flower hair pieces, Bendet created a perfect garden party with splashes of fun and femininity.
Glitter Galore
So many pieces from the spring collection shined. Whether it was glittery, sequined dresses, shiny silk or glitter heels, Bendet’s collection reinforced one thing: sparkles are in, again, for next spring.
Overall, the “Very Secret Garden” (in reality it was not a very hush hush event) Alice + Olivia presentation was a fun filled event that showcased Bendet’s knack for fashion that is fun. Spotted celebrities included Sophia Bush, The Veronicas, Michelle Trachtenberg, Nicki Hilton, Jordin Sparks, LeAnn Rimes and Tinsley Mortimer.
