For the ultimate spring collection, Chris Benz brings us an eccentric assortment that women of any age can come to appreciate. Filled with poppy colours and geometric prints, Chris Benz showed us a quirkier and tropical side to him that we hope to see more of. Going for all shades of reds and oranges, Chris Benz reminded us how much love we have for this hippie era.
What’s spring without prints? These blossoming prints were paramount in Chris Benz’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Highlighting the 70s era, these contrasting prints along with the dewy skin, teased hair, red hue lipstick resulted the perfect look for a psychedelic party.
Aside from the electric hues from those glorious prints, Chris Benz also focused on pastel colourblocking, providing a very casual yet fun and light vibe at his presentation. Creams, baby blues, and lime greens were just a few of these pastel colours used to create an amorous atmosphere. These candy colours surely will make anyone feel sweet and alluring.
While Chris Benz did concentrate on most of the collection with poppy hues, he didn’t forget about the ladies who wanted more subtlety. Though still glitzy, Chris Benz did tame a part of the installment with some black and white circular patterns. You can see the dichotomous print plastered on blazers, pants, and dresses. It’s hard to see designers these days to have a range of clothing for all types of women!
OTHER INTERESTING TIDBITS
1. Celebrity Sightings
Kelly Osbourne, Jordin Sparks, and Sophia Bush were just a few of the celebrities who showed up for Chris Benz’s Spring/Summer 2012 presentation. Though I wasn’t able to get a photo of Jordin Sparks, let’s just say that she is looking more slim than ever! Kelly Osbourne paired a pair of black slim prints with a mustard blazer which complemented Chris Benz’s psychedelic collection, while Sophia Bush went for a darker blazer and a pair of gorgeous abstract printed wedges. All these gals came to support their designer friend and looked absolutely lovely doing so.
2. Sneaks All Around
Like I said, it’s difficult to see designers these days trying to incorporate all facets of fashion into their collections. Thus, it was very refreshing to see that Chris Benz had his models wear platforms and yes, sneakers for this presentation! The flashy high-top sneakers were designed in collaboration with Alejandro Ingelmo to balance the clothing. Let’s just totally give Chris Benz and his team a round of applause for creating such a versatile collection.
