I am always inspired most by designers’ resort collections because, let’s face it, I’m from California and technically we’re always on vacation here. So although summer’s winding down and fall is just around the corner, I decided to head off to the beach one last time before the school year stated with some girlfriends in a cool and breezy look with this American Apparel pleated accordion maxi skirt and a few basic accessories inspired by the 2012 Alice + Olivia Resort Collection.
Because it was a sunny day at the beach, I instead wore a basic black camisole and opted for a black woven floppy sunhat (a closet staple this summer!). Last but certainly not least, I decided to go with recent favorites, my Steve Madden Grettta suede platforms. With an addition of a vintage belt that I purchased from a local thrift store, I was cruising at the beach… until I got sand in my shoes and salt walter on my skirt. Needless to say, I spent the rest of day relaxing in my polka dotted bikini.
