I spent the last 2 weeks in Sainte Foy Le Grande, next to the Dordogne river in the south of France. As usual I took far far too many clothes, although I was restrictive with my shoes! This top was fashioned from a thrifted granny dress, horrific shape but fantastic material and print. The beauty of it was, the top part was cut just above the elasticated waistband to apparently give ‘shape’ to the garment. (there was none) This meant I also got a beautiful pleated midi skirt out of it or a bandeau dress depending on my mood. If I was feeling daring, I could even wear the two together!
The skirt was a sale find from Topshop which I can finally wear since I bought a nude Slip skirt on Ebay. We went to a french farmers market, drank rose wine and ate oysters, (purely because I’m a pescetarian and could eat nothing else) which I have decided taste like you are literally gulping down mouthfuls of saltwater. The french music and the wine however made for a lovely little evening, and the warm air and flowing laughter made it one of the best nights of the holiday.
