rifkah 's thoughts:

I had stumbled across Mary Katrantzou, who does some amazing prints. They’re mostly digital on plain garments, but look so effective. She prints industrial inspired jewellery and all of her stuff is amazing. If you get a chance then I’d definately recommend you go check her out.

Anyway, I was feeling very inspired from her, so I’ve done a more simple, every-day look. I designed the black/blue print in Illustrator, then screen printed them on. Then the fringe is just sewn on, and then trimmed to go down to a peak in the middle. The chain part is literally gold chain with 2 piece of black leather weaved through each hole.

The hardest part on this was getting the 2-coloured screen prints to line up perfectly, it’s quite a task!

Apart from that, this was actually quite simple to make, and didn’t take a lot of time. The hardest part was working out how to secure the chain onto the t-shirt because it’s so heavy. I ended up sewing it on. You can have a lot of fun with a t-shirt, they’re so versatile, and a great canvas if you want to be a little creative!
