For those of us out here in the desert-mountain western U.S., summer monsoon season is upon us, which means nightly rain and thunderstorms, two things I love, but on this particular evening at my dear friend’s wedding celebration, the thick downpour was not ideal. Luckily, most of us were prepared with umbrellas and the lovely bride and groom were able to duck under a tent long enough for their nuptials. And fancy that, when they were done, the sun came out, birds chirped, and a rainbow appeared to make for a perfect reception.
I was mostly unscathed, but my hair did get wet enough to give me a little Florence Henderson as Mrs. Brady flip in the back, not really what I was going for :)
I love the look of pairing these bright colors with my neutral, flowy skirt and this purse was a gem of a thrift purchase and I think adds a nice ladylike touch. My boyfriend and I watched My Fair Lady this weekend and this picture reminds me just a little of the dressed up ladies with their parasols.
