We wore these outfits on 7/21/11, when we went to Comic-Con.
Daniel I decided to embrace the popular arts with some Pop Art! I love this Keith Haring t-shirt I got at Urban Outfitters for.. I think it was $5 or $10. The shirt I’m wearing is borrowed from Iris and it’s got Lichtenstein-style art printed all over it, sequined pockets, and jeweled buttons (it’s basically the best shirt to ever be created). My style right now is sort of inspired by the concept of Pop Art in the Warholian sense, which takes seemingly normal or everyday pieces and uses them as iconography; I love playing with the idea of cargo shorts, sneakers, and a shirt or jacket tied around the waist (all of which are probably seen as un-stylish) and use them in a way that’s sort of poking fun at both serious fashion and non-fashion.
Iris I’m really in love with this shirt! I’m kicking myself for not buying the lavender and peach colored ones back when I first saw it in Forever 21 a year ago. The beaded accents really make the shirt special. I’m promising myself to wear more hats right now because I have way too many that I love and don’t use. This red hat was somewhat of an attention magnet and people were asking me where to get it from (I really don’t know, my mom bought it for me somewhere haha). I didn’t really understand why so many people loved it, I definitely have other hats that I favor more. Still, my favorite thing about this hat are the pom poms scattered across the veil, from far away they sort of look like a disease taking over my head but I kinda like that, haha.
