I’m often asked how I put outfits together in the morning. And I wish I could tell you that there is some sort of rhyme or reason to my madness, but it really just comes down to pulling something out and then looking at all of the top or bottom options to go along with it. What can I get away with? Are these patterns too crazy to pair together?
When I saw this vintage polka dot skirt I instantly fell in love and patiently waited as it made its way from Hong Kong. So when I came home late and didn’t have any ideas as to what I felt like wearing the next day, I was relieved to find this fun number screaming at me from inside the mess that is my closet.
What compliments a bold pattern like bright dots? Either a plain color or something equally bold (at least that’s how I feel.) Enter the striped top. Something was still missing. And while I played around with some bright skinny belts that did the trick, I knew I wanted to pair flats with the ensemble as my feet were suffering from a Lucky Magazine event the night prior. In popped leopard flats and a skinny leopard belt to pull the whole look together.
Nothing particularly matches in this outfit, but it does kind of remind me of a very stylish circus tent – and I’m kind of okay with that!
