I was feeling especially heavy metal today for no apparent reason. Perhaps it’s the heavy influence of ROCK and the constant exposure to ZZ Top songs nonstop..i’m addicted! I need an explanation since my fashion sense seems to be bipolar/ manic depressive or suffering from some form of split personality. From the white frilly feminine outfit yesterday to this dark metallic one, I feel like I shift fashion sense and style as easy as batting eyelashes.
The skirt is one of my best finds from online Multiply and Retail Lab store, DUERR and I loved it when they premiered this skirt at the Fabric Fashion Show featuring Retail Lab designs a month or two ago. I knew I had to have it. It comes from the collection called Nine.Zero and I highly recommend everyone to check it out. It features silver/black color palettes and the details of each piece (I also want to get the black zipper skirt but stopped myself since I need to save) are exceptional and well thought of. I love the shoes on their catalog too but they don’t sell them, unfortunately. It’s genius! The clothes are simply genius!
The skirt actually reminded me a lot of the much acclaimed and much coveted ultra expensive Herve Leger bandage dresses which I’ve been wanting since it’s debut. I totally love bandage dresses to death!!! And this skirt was a very fabulous alternative to it!!! It fitted me like a glove and emphasized my Assets without looking too hoochie mama or skanky so it captured the elegance and vampiness the Bandage dress is all about.
I was walking around High Street with my boyfriend after eating dinner to burn what we just ate and I got a compliment from a friend and the senior make up artist from Make Up Forever (I need their lash extensions now!) who said, “I love your outfit. I love it! You look like a real life doll/ mannequin! Perfect!!!” which of course made me smile.
Saturdays for me are not spent clubbing or bar hopping since I always think the clubs back here are too jam packed for anyone to have an ounce of fun. In my country almost everyone goes out on a Saturday night which is why me and my friends transferred to Friday nights as the weekly IT/ OUT night.
But anyway, since I was not able to go out last night for reasons mentioned in my previous blog entry, I decided to have a night out with my BFF and boyfriend at the popular restaurant strip, Serendra. Originally, we planned on going to Barcino but since I was saving the red and white night for Nina who was sick from a weeklong of TVC shooting and since Bea, my bestfriend was craving for the beef wrap in Fez, ended up there instead. It was a fun night where we just basically bitched about random things and events from the past week.
My bestfriend and of course my weekly dose of Nina are my saviors when it comes to things like this. Since sometimes, there are just things you need to let out to someone you trust enough not to blurt it out or use it against you. They won’t. Never did, never will.
Ended the night with a trip to Fully Booked …a well stacked 4story book store here where I giggled endlessly while browsing through the much loved “THIS DIARY WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE” 2009 edition by Benrik. Hilarious. I plan to get it for my boyfriend since he seemed so committed to doing the weekly themes and challenges.
The Tagline of the 2008 Planner goes, “Playing along with this book might not make your life any better – but it sure as hell will make it more interesting” Isn’t that so much fun? Go to http://www.benrik.co.uk/content/books.asp to learn more about it.
Song inspiration was SONG 2 by BLUR. Snaps to Teej for making me remember the song. XX
_I got my head checked
By a jumbo jet
It wasnt easy
But nothing is, no
When I feel heavy metal
And Im pins and Im needles
Well I lie and Im easy
All of the time but Im never sure when I need you
Pleased to meet you
I got my head done
When I was young
Its not my problem
Its not my problem
When I feel heavy metal
And Im pins and Im needles
Well I lie and Im easy
All of the time but Im never sure when I need you
Pleased to meet you_
About Duerr from Multiply…
The founders of Duerr acknowledge that the name is special because of its associations with their past. For the rest of us, Duerr will quickly come to mean cool and quirky clothing, designs that are dark and edgy but sensual and fun at the same time.
Duerr designs are a sophisticated alternative for the chic young woman of today. The forms are feminine without being girly or precious, hinting at a sexual energy just hiding beneath a cool, clean veneer: like an eyebrow raised just so, or a smile that speaks volumes but gives nothing away.
Duerr clothes are easy to wear and always fashionable. Single statement pieces can be mixed and matched with subtle and versatile items: strong, angular dresses juxtaposed with skinny pants, or soft shrunken jackets over long, lean tops and playful shorts. Imagine pulling on a Duerr outfit for a bright day filled with museum explorations, fashion shows, and posh restaurants; or, with a simple change of accessories, move into a hot night hitting the club scene, checking out the hippest new bars, or enjoying a romantic date brimming with possibilities.
The women who wear Duerr are self-assured and confident: they know who they are and what they want, but they’re not afraid to experiment and be on the cutting edge of fashion. Think of the clean sophistication of Zooey Deschanel, the Blackwell-recognized quirky fashion sense of Kirsten Dunst, or the reinvented refinement of ingénue Sienna Miller.
Duerr lets you show the world who you are, but lets you keep the really juicy secrets to yourself.
