GO BOLD – OR GO HOME
Earlier this year, we’ve realized how colours can influence the way we feel, especially when it comes to clothes. That’s why this season, we want vibrant and bold looks to make us feel animate and zealous. Simply said, wear your colours confidently!
1. Orange you glad to see me?
Why, yes, I am glad to see you, orange. Brighten any wardrobe with this colour whether you’re planning on being flamboyant or even a bit discreet. Whatever your preference, this popping colour will definitely make heads turn.
Examples:
Chictopians, LA_Blog and GwynethBG show us how to diversify these fiery oranges with either an orange-tipped fox tail or long, flowy maxi skirt.
2. Reds and greens are not just for Christmas.
While most of us associate the colours, red and green, with the holiday season, a true fashionista at heart knows that these two colours can be worn at any time, anywhere. Why not use what you know from last season and continue to colourblock this summer?
Examples:
Chictopian, KateMills and Style Icon, FashionChalet look absolutely smashing in this traditional red-green colourblock combination.
3. I’m feeling so blue.
You should feel blue because this stunning colour will leave you wanting more. To make your outfit pop, make sure to pair up your blues with some oranges or yellows. It’s a magnificent way to show off your electrifying, edgy side.
Examples:
Style Icons, Maddinka and StylePantry show their fierceness by matching two bold colours: electric blue and shocking yellow.
4. Look at all the neon brights!
School may be over, but bring back those highlighters because neon colours are the it colours for this summer. No matter what colour those neons are paired up with, those neons will be the focal point. And yes, you can pair neon colours with any other colour, including black!
Examples:
Style Icon, AtlanticPacific and Chictopian, Itegg display their flirty fluorescents by donning the classic colours, yellow and hot pink.

FIX YOUR DON’TS
1. Don’t overdo the colours.
If you’ve noticed in all of the examples, our Chictopians kept it to a maximum of two bold colours. Having more than two vibrant colours (three can still be an adequate amount), you face the possibility of looking jumbled than put together. Try to keep your outfit a maximum of two colours if you’re just beginning to experiment with bright colours.
2. Don’t forget to accessorize.
This is especially important for gals who want to exemplify that boldness in accessories rather than in the outfits. If you’re not comfortable in wearing bright colours from head to toe, you can always opt for a bright handbag or necklace pendant. These small gestures can ease your way into the wearing big, bright colours!
3. Don’t forget to be confident!
Lastly, this isn’t a fashion rule, per se, but this is the kind of attitude you must harbor when you’re wearing these flashy colours! Even if your outfit is the brightest amongst the crowd, when you don’t have that confidence, you still don’t shine. So, Chictopians, gleam away!
