I often dress in monochrome with only bits of color, or no color at all. I find myself more interested in mixing pattern and textures than color. For instance, this striped cotton dress and filigree printed cotton scarf with my knit sweater and crocheted beret and faux-leather boots. In color these two patterns might be overwhelming, but I find the starkness of black and white makes it manageable for the eye. Or possibly I’m walking around giving passers-by vertigo.
I admit, there’s also some appeal to knowing I’d look the same in black and white.
