I feel like dancing a ballet in this outfit. I don’t know anything about ballet, but I like it. Maybe it’s the bun on head?
Ballets make me think of Swan Lake and more recently, The Black Swan movie (a disturbing, psychotic thriller). Which brings me to the name of this outfit post. The Ugly Duckling is one of my favorite childhood stories. It’s one about the triumph of the underdog—or underduck. (Actually, did you know that a baby swan is called a cygnet. I googled it. But undercygnet, doesn’t work, as well).
I was a painfully awkward and shy child. Never felt pretty or smart enough. Was not of the cool crowd. Always wished I was popular. Over time and many life lessons, I’ve learned to accept who I am. This belief in self is what makes a person beautiful.
Self confidence will take one far.
Wore the skirt during the day for work and then later switched them out for polka dotted shorts to go to a barbeque. Please visit my blog site: http://www.theclotheswewear.com to see how I take my outfit from work to play by simply changing a couple things.
Have a lovely weekend, friend!
