Over the course of my trip I only had two pairs of shoes. I brought a small pair of black flats to wear on special occasions but these red converse were my daily pal. They went everywhere with me. In the rain and in the sun they kept my feet covered and as warm as they could. They walked everyday, 8 hours a day for 30 days….do that math – it’s a long long way!
It’s amazing that they held up this well considering the beating they took throughout the trip. But I never really got foot pain that was that bad and they matched perfectly with the various dresses and tights I brought with me. I chose the red ones to bring since they seemed like the most fun and matched my lovely red hair. Adding the converse to the outfits actually helped style the outfit as well. It made the dresses less fancy and more casual and comfy. Compare this outfit to my interview version of it.
This awesome dress-tights combo is the perfect summation of what my daily style was on the trip. Laid back fabrics that were comfy to run around in, but layers and dresses easily combined with sweaters in case of cold. Even though I was missing my unique headbands and different pairs of shoes I really loved the effort that was needed to get a funky and fresh outfit together everyday that was different. And honestly, the tights were the best thing I brought. Layering them for warmth, adding them to change up colours, and even as under-the-jeans long underwear! Thank you We Love Colours! Peeps all over the world were stunned at the bright colours – and it always made me really easy for Sarah to find me in a crowd – and that’s more important than you would think!
