While leopard print has been a reigning champ in the animal print kingdom, snake print is not too far behind. Sure, if you want to show off your wild side, you can opt for some leopard print. However, if you want to exude elegance, sleekness, and grace, snake print would be the optimal choice.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN ’EM SNAKES
While we still love our leopard prints, we can’t help but admire this season’s ultimate print: snake skin. Snake prints have been seen in forms of clutches (Kara Ross Spring 2011, dresses (Altuzarra Spring 2011 RTW) and even different colours (Roberto Cavalli Spring 2011 RTW. There’s something about that scaly texture and vibrant pattern that just screams luxury, daring, and classic all at once. In all seriousness, other print can be worn at the office and to the club?

STYLING RULES
1. Contrast, baby, contrast.
While the model on our main image looks good in all snake print, sometimes it may not translate well on the streets. Make sure you contrast the snake print with either solid neturals or darks. Also, make sure these tops at least cover half your bums – repeat, at least half of your bums. Not only will your outfit look balanced, your snake print apparel will definitely be a showstopper.
Examples:
Style blogger, Andy of Style Scrapbook paired a pair of python leggings with a soft champagne coloured blazer and top, while blogger Jessica of Ache styled her leggings with some subtle grays.
2. Let’s go all out!
Okay, we understand that our Chictopians are fierce and would love to pump up that fierceness when wearing a trend like snake print. Instead of piling on layers of the print (i.e., printed jacket with printed shorts, etc.), we advise you to simply wear a snake print maxi dress or romper! Go on, play with the colours and fabrics like chiffon and vibrant colours!
Examples:
Youtube Makeup Guru, Dulce Candy, looks so chic in this decked out Zara snake print dress, while boutique owner, Kat of Mikkat Market, looks absolutely stellar in her (sold out) tiered snake print dress.
3. Little Can Mean More.
Sometimes, snake print doesn’t need to be overdone. For gals who want to remain subtle yet traditional, we suggest you Chictopians stick with small accessories like belts, shoes, and jewelry. Remember rule #1, though: contrast your wicked accessories with toned down solids!
Examples:
One of our favourite stores, Rock Paper Vintage, shows us how a thin snake print belt can complement so well with a simple nude dress. We also like that Chictopian, Tauyanm, looks so carefree in her snake print kitten heels!
4. Go ahead, show your legs!
Not a fan of them decked out snake print? Well, why not try some apparel that has snakes printed on them instead?
Examples:
Our very own Style Icons, KaitlynRickson and Yukilo show how these tights are fun to wear and can really spruce up any outfit! Psss, you can also sport a similar pair for only $10.00 from Ebay!
