“When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies.” – J.M. Barrie, (Peter Pan)
People may notice that I often quote J.M. Barrie, and this makes sense, as he is the author of the Peter Pan books and stories, which happen to be my favorite books and character. This look was really inspired by the Neverland fairies. Note that I do not speak of the Tinker Bell look; no ballet bun, puff-toed shoes, or skimpy green dress for me! Fairies, in my mind, look ever so much more natural, more like a dryad look about them. Wouldn’t it be fun to be a fairy? To fly about on a cloud of pixie dust, to play with mermaids, to soar into places that we humans could never go. To giggle with other fairies and make that lovely tinkling noise like bells and the rippling of a stream. It would be like living in a dream.
