The instrument in the photo is my dad’s banjo-mandolin, a hybrid between a banjo and a mandolin that was popularized back in the ‘20s. I think it belonged to my dad’s grandfather, who liked to play music and collect unusual things (and this “manjo” definitely is unique!). It’s such a pretty thing, and I knew I had to include it in a post one time. As for my crown, it’s something I made wrapping twine around my grandmother’s seashell necklace. I wasn’t sure how it would look when I originally came up with the idea, but I’m very pleased with how it came out in the end!
