so here it is. my “back to basic.” probably three of the most practical and classic pieces i have in my closet. personally, i perceive basic as fundamental or classic, essentially, timeless. that’s where both my color choices and decision of pieces come together here. black and white + the most quintessential primary color, blue. but when putting together this basic-ness, i wanted to add a little sump-n sump-n to sauce it up some.
after grabbing my oversized white button-down from my closet, i put it on as many different wrong ways as i could, a la brendan frasier in “encino man”. i turned it upside down, wore it on my face, used different button holes for different buttons. in the end, i settled on wearing it completely backwards and buttoning it all the way up my back. it’s slit a tad on both the bottom sides, so i tucked the front into my skirt and the back just hangs out. although it may slightly resemble an elegant straight jacket and the collar is eerily priest-like bc of its foldover neck label, i kinda dig it. the ruching under the front (or should i say back) part of the collar is oh so subtle, yet tres tres feminine.
i was expecting it to be cold today so i brought out the cardigan.
