Hi dear Chictopians,
As of April 11th, Chictopia and Red Cross have launched the Wear Red Wear Hope campaign in support of Japan. So far, we’ve seen wonderful submissions of Chictopians wearing red and want to thank all of you for your kind thoughts and donations to the Red Cross and the people of Japan. We are so grateful to all of you for joining us in this cause and we hope that you’re contribution will inspire others to focus their good intentions towards those affected by this tragedy.
We believe that fashion can make a real impact on the world and help those that need us most, but in order to do so we need the fashion blogging community’s help. For those who have not heard of or participated in the campaign yet, we want to encourage you to join Chictopia and Red Cross.
While fashion blogs consist of talk about designers, clothes, and shopping, we want to encourage you to deter from the typical blog routine and focus on the greater picture of the world. Wear Red, Wear Hope asks fashion bloggers and Chictopians like yourself to post a photo of yourself wearing an article of red clothing. Red, the nation’s color, is a beautiful representation of our hope for the country’s recovery and safety. By uploading a photo of yourself wearing red, the symbol of Japan, you will not only be showing your support for those devastated by the crisis in Japan but you will also be spreading hope and awareness.
Donations towards Japan earthquake/tsunami relief can be received at http://www.american.redcross.org/Chictopia. Chictopia will match up to $1,000 of the donations received and will give everyone who enters the fundraiser 1 chic point for every $1 we raise.
Way beyond trends, we hope to see everyone come together for charity!
