I was scrolling through my recent outfit posts when I realized that I haven’t been wearing a lot of vintage lately. Which is weird because vintage dresses and skirts are the clothes that make me happiest; I love wearing things that have a story. For example, when I was in college, I choreographed a dance called “Things we don’t understand and are definitely not going to talk about” (I have a thing for odd titles). All of the dancers wore vintage dresses, and one was massively damaged over the course of our rehearsals and shows. I’ve since mended it, and it’s fun to think that the dress has had three lives: once, back in the 50’s/60’s, again as a costume worn onstage, and now as one of my sister’s favorite pieces.
The dress in these photos is actually from Francesca’s lovely vintage shop, and the tote (which you’ve probably seen elsewhere in the blogosphere) is from her print shop. It felt so nice to just throw on a dress and flats and walk out the door; no tights, no layers. Oh, spring, how I’ve missed you!
