AmandaJ 's Thoughts:

Please indulge me with my love for alliterations! But pickled peplum is just too much fun to resist. All grammatical entertainment aside, can we discuss the return of the peplum cut for a moment? A while ago I picked up this peplum style jacket for a great deal at The Hidden Pearl, and only recently saw the trend in this cut returning to the fashion scene (after it’s long hiatus since the ’80s).

My thoughts? Well, I obviously like the style, but I’m not a big fan of pairing it with pencil skirts above the knee, as was so popular during my youth in the 1980’s. Such a gung-ho ’80’s look goes against my whole philosophy of mixing decades. I thought the peplum jacket would be nicer with this longer skirt, which ironically, is also from the ’80’s. Although, from what I’ve seen, peplum waists didn’t usually make their appearances with midi skirts like this.

Really like the combination of blue and green in this outfit. They work well together.
