While Milan Fashion week is well on it’s way and the Paris runways creeping up quickly, we’re going to take you back to London to review the collection that is surely going to pull on the heartstrings of all the fashion it-girls. Charles Anastase created a simple collection for Fall 2011 that packed a big punch for modern minimalists and Lolita-loving ladies. The look is sure to be a popular source of inspiration for many a Chictopian come Fall 2011. Their past season’s shoes were the inspiration behind the Jessica Simpson Dany and even more ubiquitous Jeffery Campbell Litas, and this season the shoes are even higher and come with a killer wedge. Taking recent fashion staples and giving them a fresh feel for Fall.

+ MODERN MAN +
Thick coats and clean lines set the tone for this part of the collection. Charles Anastase stayed true to it’s ladylike and feminine look by creating classic pieces but gave them a menswear edge to bring them to current times. After all, they must cater to the young and chic it-style icon. The colors were warm and subdued but stand out against the all black fashion scene that is usual during the colder months. Dark wine reds, cool gray blues, and gingerbread-like browns are the perfect color palette for 2011’s fall season. If the menswear aspect kept the look classic, the modernity comes from the silhouette. Longer lengths that jutted down toward the knee mixed with more voluminous trousers than the ubiquitous skinny created an effortless ease to the garments. The it girl’s twiggy legs hidden in fabric keep the look fresh and new.
+ LOLITA FAIRYTALE +
While the boyish look is definitely rising, the other side of the spectrum is still ruling the scene. Chictopia is obviously embracing the girlish wonder of Lolita styles from little girl coats, pastel pinks, and cute collars. Charles Anastase pushed all the right buttons that have been dominating the scene of Lolita fashion while mixing in some unexpected elements. The fuzzy skirt and coat in a pale rose color gave texture to the it girl staples. This play of texture and fabric gave way to silky rompers and gowns, sheep-like skirts, sparkle-y dresses. The stiff nightgown-esque dresses felt like an extremely modern evening option. Velvet and sheer fabrics gave the little girl a bit of a grown up edge and played with the pull that is so apparent in style today. The seductive short lengths mixed with thigh high leather boots stopped the lightness and gave it balance and true power to reel in any fashion lover.

The big frizzy hair and sky high shoes injected a bit of darkness into the collection which included mythical horse-sheep hybrid prints (which seem to evoke images of Catcher In The Rye), repltile textiles (usually associated with tacky but were cut in classy shapes) and appliqué flowers. We can imagine everything in the collection on Alexa Chung who even took to her twitter to state that it was basically her “dream wardrobe.” Perfectly stated, it was the best mixture of youthful wonder and classic British elegance that the style star is so famous for. We can definitely see Chictopians sporting the look in the Style Gallery very soon.
