I decided to put up some examples of contrasting colors and patterns, and how to put them together with tops that will show off the skirt well. The first photo is of a cream high waisted skirt, put together with a white tank top. This is a good combination because both are quite light colors, therefore both blend well together and the focus is mainly on the logo on the tank top. This outfit is good for shopping, or a day out.
The next photo is of a dark blue polka dot high waisted skirt, put together with a grey top. This works well because of the contrast, the dark blue and grey contrast good together, therefore giving a more dramatic effect. The main focus is put on the white polka dots. Also in this photo, panty hose is also used, this blends in well with the dark blue skirt. This outfit could be worn to a party or dinner.
The third photo is of a aquamarine/turquoise high waisted skirt matched with a white tank top. The blue skirt has a wide elastic belt (probably attached to the skirt already) and this gives a good contrast between the white tank top and blue skirt. It shows a good separation from the two plain colors. This outfit could be worn to a lunch date, or a birthday party. Also accessorizing with this outfit should be quite easy, one could use simple accessories, nothing to bold, as this outfit is nice being kept simple.
The last photo is of a floral patterned high waisted skirt, and the base color of this skirt is probably black. This floral skirt could be paired with a plain color top. A black or white top, possibly a pale pink top, could be put together with the floral skirt. The main focus would be on the contrast of the floral skirt and plain top. This outfit could be worn to a party, or dinner.
