Though NYFW is officially over, we’re still letting it all soak in. One of my favorite parts of fashion week is seeing what everyone wears to events – from renowned editors to suburban bloggers, everyone dresses their best. In the event that you’re still catching up on the latest collections, here’s a rundown of the top street style looks from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week!
Fashion Week Standbys: The Editors
(clockwise from top left)
1. Connie Wang of Refinery 29 (former Everybody is Ugly editor) pairs her colorful scarf and plaid blouse with the perfect camel coat and flared jeans.
2. A street style photographer’s dream, Joanna Hillman of Harper’s Bazaar always looks plain fierce. This ladylike ensemble is toughened up with boots from – get this – Gap.
3. Anna Wintour, editor in chief at Vogue, ultimately determines fashion. Here she cleverly pairs black and brown, perhaps dispelling the so-called rule.
4. A personal favorite, Taylor Tomasi-Hill from Marie Claire wears a comfy animal-adorned sweater with a sleek pencil skirt and thigh-high suede boots.
The Newcomers: Bloggers
(clockwise from top left)
1. Leandra Medine, the witty writer behind the Man Repeller, dons her self-proclaimed “birth control glasses” with a huge furry vest and ridiculously good Rag and Bone pants.
2. Taghrid Chaaban of Taghrid.cc keeps it simple in a soft sweater and flared jeans.
3. One of my favorite bloggers, Rebecca Stice of The Clothes Horse pairs a beautiful printed coat with bright tights and heeled oxfords.
4. Susie Lau from Style Bubble wears numerous shades of blue and beautiful floral pants, a perfect winter-to-spring transition look.
Familiar Faces: Chictopians
(clockwise from top left)
1. A metallic skirt for daytime? Why not? Chictopia Style Icon and EIU Editor Liz (Late Afternoon) wears hers with a gorgeous fur coat.
2. Christina (Trop Rogue) looks effortlessly chic in a fluffy coat and brilliant maxi dress. And shall I mention her magnificent hair?
3. We’ve been seeing midlength skirts all over, but Kim (eat.sleep.wear.) keeps it edgy by wearing a faux leather version.
4. Laura (OnTheRacks) perfects casual chic in black and two different shades of rust.
And last, but not least… A Few EIU Editors
(top to bottom)
1. Hope (Pink Champagne) has been spotted by several street style photographers, always looking uniquely stylish. I’m willing to bet more than one photographer developed a crush on her style – and we’re proud to say she was representing Chictopia on her trip to NYC!
2. All the way from Europe, Angie (Papillon Chouette) also put together eye-catching ensembles during her stay. Vintage-inspired glamour modernized or casually chic, she gets it right and makes us proud!
What are some of your favorite looks?
