I wanted to wear some color, and I wanted to give this paisley skirt another whirl, and I saw this old A Clockwork Orange t-shirt lying on the floor in my closet and I was like DAYUM where have you been, come here you cute little vibrant intellectual top! I love it with this skirt. Whenever I put on a midi skirt, I try to find a way to keep it from becoming too dowdy and granny by striving for some sort of girly youth in the styling. By pairing a longer skirtlength with a simple t-shirt, you distance yourself from grandma comparisons. Another good idea is to wear these with any kind of statement footwear: converse, chunky platforms, printed wedges, pumps with a bow, wingtip brogues etcetera. And keep your hair messy! Nothing keeps you looking like Alexa Chung rather than your nan than having scruffy hair. Unless you have it in one of those scruffy, half undone buns. If you pair that with a longer skirt, a statement t-shirt and weird shoes people will just think you look like the crazy catlady from around the corner.
It really isn’t easy getting fashion right, is it? But that’s what keeps it interesting. I like looking a bit ridiculous from time to time.
