Everyone watched it. Everyone’s talking about it. The Golden Globes. Although the Golden Globes were on this Sunday, it’s still on everyones mind and the main topic of discussion. This year I was thoroughly impressed with all the celebrities and their choices, even the dudes looked good! (not that they don’t usually but its hard to find a nice, fashionable tux). This year there was a lot of variety including everything from full out formal gowns to sleek maxi’s. You also had pretty much every color of the rainbow, including some really gorgeous citrus colors. I had a really hard time narrowing my favorites down but here they are!
Shaun Robinson: Shaun wore a Oday Shakar dress. The one sleeve dress is really becoming popular and I have no problem with it. I’m not going to lie….I used to hate that trend but now….I dig it. It’s super elegant and to boost the elegance meter this dress is covered with midnight blue/silver sequins. Chic! If you notice she wore her hair low and kept her makeup simple to really bring all the attention to the dress. The cascading earrings add a perfect accent to the sparkles in the dress and fills in that empty space where no hair is.
Scarlett Johansson: Scarlet wore an Elie Saab dress that was a beautiful nude color with gorgeous beading throughout. Her dress had these fabulous bell sleeves that draped off her shoulders perfectly with an airy train to follow. Scarlett really brought back the 70s with this one and its wonderful. I like that she wore a little bit of a fancier up do to spice up the dress a little since the nude color was simple. Because dress was simple I was glad there were no accessories to take away from it. Gorg!
Emma Stone: Emma Stone has been hitting ALL the best dressed lists and she totally deserves it. In a solid rose color dress that almost matched her skin tone, Emma rocked the short sleeve maxi by Calvin Klein HARD. Not only was this dress a fantastic choice for her and her rising stardom but it it was accessorized perfectly too. The new blonde hair was a great contrast to the neutral color, the silver clutch popped, and the cocktail ring was the perfect topper. She could have gone either way with her hair….fancy or simple….and I’m glad she went the simple route. Overall super elegant and chic!
Olivia Wilde: What girl would NOT be stoked about this dress? It is every girl’s Cinderella dream! From the poofy skirt to the cascading rhinestones, this dress was magical. The dress was by Marchesa and boy did they knock it out of the park. I love that she wore her hair down to dress it down a little bit because an updo would have brought it to a formal extreme that I would never want to see. Stunning.
I had many other favorites TRUST. One dress that was on the worst dressed that I thought was super cute was Katie Lee’s citrus maxi (shown on the cover page). It was retro and bright with awesome beading on the bust and halter. I also enjoyed Angelina Jolie’s Versace dress and Michelle Williams Valentino dress. To see other dresses go here. What were your favorites?
