I really loved this outfit. It was a different look for me. I rarely wear fedora’s or such bold leggings (you can’t tell in the pic but they were as bright as christmas) but I’m all for pushing myself outside of my fashion comfort zone. I don’t believe in conforming just for the sake of conforming, or letting people tell me that I look stupid for being different. I AM different. I’ve always been different. You can’t make me hate myself for being who I am. I think that I’m pretty damn great. ;) I got a lot of weird looks while I was on the BART to San Francisco, but once I got there I was def in my element. San Fran has such an eclectic, fun, and exciting vibe about it. Not one person is or LOOKS the same, which makes for fantastic people watching. There’s the rocker with pinstripe pants, a bright t-shirt, chains, and spikes walking down Powell Street. Or the diva in Louis Vuitton with fur, diamonds, and thigh-high boots. And then there’s everyone else in between: a collection of jeans, ties, suits, dresses, skirts, mohawks, dreads, and long hair. You have your gays, art kids, potheads, corporation types, browsers, tourists, and residents and, even if you can categorize each person, it’s still a broad spectrum. It’s always a blessing to be surround by people who are “different,” because then you all have something in common. It’s an inviting atmosphere that encourages you to embrace your uniqueness, while enjoying the extraordinary peculiarities of those around you. I loved this outfit, and I always love my days in San Fran.
