I would be an AWESOME editor. Not simply because I have a style that is uniquely my own, but because I have an outlook and a voice that is genuine too!
Ever since I can remember I have loved fashion and even when I was in grade school, I was always ahead of the curve when it came to clothes, which more often than not procured lots of teasing from other kids my age who just didn’t understand. When they wore a color or pattern, I thought of all the complimenting ones and the vast array of combinations they could have paired with it. When they heard ‘school dance’ and opted to wear flip-flops, I saw a chance to rock high heels and red lipstick. When they saw a yard sale with boxes full of old clothes and hand-me-downs, I saw once-loved vintage with an amazing story to tell and many more memories to make!
They didn’t get that there was so much more to clothes, but I saw the potential in them.
I often emulated (to the best of my twelve-year old abilities of course) what I saw in fashion magazines like Vogue and the runway shows on the fashion channels at the time; and was always wearing styles not unlike what you see trending on the catwalk now. Back then most kids thought I was weird, but in truth, I was just three steps ahead (I had fashion-premonition, if you will), and it’s funny that the very styles they used to make fun of me for are the ones they try so hard to emulate now too. I wasn’t afraid of color combinations, I wasn’t afraid of wearing something different, and I wasn’t afraid of taking risks; I just embraced who I was in my heart: a true Fashionista.
My experiences as a model have definitely shaped me into the confident young woman that I am today and they have helped me define and polish my own sense of style in a great way. My ability to see into the future of fashion helps me decide what to wear, as well as shop and design. It helps make my style unique, because I can take a trend, put my twist on it, and transform it into something that is distinctly me! I’ve watched fashion grow and, in a sense, fashion has watched me grow as well. I would love the chance to share my love with the world, not just the World Wide Web and help inspire others to blossom into the Style Queens (and Kings!) they’ve always wanted to be too!
I believe it was William Shakespeare who said: “All the world’s a runway, and all the men and women merely Fashionistas.”
Okay, maybe not, but you get the picture ;)
