The MOMA’s Arts and Fashion symposium every year brings together a slew of fashion’s most erudite and luckily for us, this years’ convention brought Brit blogging darling Susie Bubble of Style Bubble fame to the Bay. And guys? THE RUMORS ARE TRUE. Susie Bubble (or Susanna Lau to those who were wondering what commune Susie’s parents belonged to) is just as adorable and stylish and cool as her posts make her seem. We were lucky enough to catch an hour of time to have lunch near her hotel in Japan Town. Here are some snapshots of our conversation.
How does it feel when you meet bloggers in person?
You meet them, and they feel like your friend, you know? You’ve been reading their writing for so long that even though you just meet them, they feel familiar. It’s great to have places like Chictopia, where bloggers come together to form a community.
What is your take on the fall?
Wrapping layers around me. Big chunky knits. Getting back into knitting! It’s so therapeutic I’ve been thinking about knitting myself a pair of woolen shorts like Sandra Backlund did.
Do you ever look at someone and think: oh, that doesn’t work!
No, not really. I think people should dress the way they want to. I put together my clothes the way I like them. I don’t really judge others on the way they dress.
You are so great at layering! How do you do it?
Oh, I like to layer. I also just have so much clothes. Sometimes in the morning I look at my clothes and think: oh, I want to wear that, but THAT too!
How are you enjoying San Francisco?
I really like it. I want to come back again. It’s a very pretty city!
Keep your eyes peeled for Susie to pop up on Chictopia!
