Oh this happens here too! Although it never really gets that cold. Sometimes during rainy days I see girls at school wearing hoodies/sweaters with flip flops but I guess I never really thought it was out of place since it's practically summer here all year round:)

Ohh you guys should come to NewZealand. You will all be MORTIFIED. Jandals are sort of a national item. It goes with everything, and worn at any time. That's why I'm biased, but I've never understood this hating on the wearing of jandals! Comfort = confidence = chic!

I also hate long sleeve shirts worn with the belly out. Make a decision, are you hot or cold??

Casual Style, best suited for a Everyday

I don’t really believe in Fashion Crimes, more Fashion Mystifiers. There are some things I just don’t understand and thong sandals / flip flops worn with wintery clothes is definitely one of them. Yet this is something I see day in day out in London.

The only reason I’m recreating the look myself is the fact that my camera ran out of battery earlier today. I couldn’t snapped a dozens of girls dressed like this. And it was raining.

I’m totally down with the free hippy vibe of a sandal and appreciate the symbolic summer feeling of having semi-bare feet on a hot day after a whole winter of boots and trainers. And yes, we suffer from changeable weather at this time of year. But if it’s cold enough for a jacket then I’m pretty sure you’re feet aren’t going to overheat if you encase them in a normal shoe.

It’s hard enough trying to navigate public transport in this city without worrying about someone stamping on your bare toes. And they will get stamped on. Not to mention what you might accidentally step in yourself. Yuck.
