I do realize this might be a strange outfit, I might look like a crazy old woman, the type that have many cats and wear all their clothing in layers and layers (I had a great aunt like that…). Maybe wearing this shawl and cooky beret is a bit too much, and yes, I did get some stares from strangers, but I simply love these pieces and I love wearing them all together.
This beret I bought in Berlin a few years ago, I spent a few weeks living there in summer, attending a german course. In one of my many walks around the different neighbourhoods I found a beautiful atelier, the owner and designer sold all kinds of hats, berets, fascinators, the shop was so cute! I knew I would find the perfect hat in there before I even entered!
The shawl belonged to my great great grandmother and it has been passed on from mother to daughter until it got to me, the first time I woe it was at a Christmas play, I was Mrs. Mann, the director of the orphanage in Oliver Twist. Afew years later, I decided that this shawl was too good to wear just as a fancy dress, it has kept me warm every winter since that day!!!
