This was for a shoot for a local magazine called CHALK. it’s a college lifestyle magazine. It was a segment on stylish youth. 25 of us, i think. I love the people behind those pages. Shout to bianca, the fashion ed. :p and kate!
During the beginning of this year, I stopped wearing black. I guess cuz summer came and it being in a tropical country, it was just out of the question.
By the time this photo was taken, the fall looks started to pour out alongside the Philippines’ stormy weather.. which is really the only time we can attempt to emulate international fall trends.
So I mixed sheer with volume and polished the all black look with black tights and oxfords! Since I tend to be a walking oxymoron when it comes to style.. I figured the mixture of that sheer top and that insane skirt would make for perfect style metonymy. There’s always always a story to tell. This time, it had a very conflicting theme.. sheer volume of black. get it?
Geez, I love the sheer trend which is here to stay evident by it’s ongoing presence in 08’s spring summer trends.
I was also proud that weeks later madonna’s give it 2 me video came out and a similar outfit was worn! (as seen in photo below) except she’s wearing panties. God, I love her.
