person: what’s up with the orange , red and gray?
me: blank stare (straight face) (what do you mean what’s up with the orange, red and gray)?
person:(confused) stand up so i can see your outfit
me: blank stare, are you seriously serious? walks away.
moral of the story, people say the funniest things …sometimes the best way to put someone in their place is to confuse them even more with your response. Look them straight in the eye and dare them to keep talking answer their question with a question. if inclined school them on the importance of COORDINATION…people are so used to Matching that things that don’t match sometimes seems a bit off. granted it doesn’t always add up or make sense, but in this case ‘explaining’ the logic behind why i threw my craziness together in such a reckless fashion would have been pointless…he wouldn’t get it, no matter how simple i make it. the look in his eye said it all.
people won’t always like what you come up with but who cares. if you are confident in what you have on, their confusion is your affirmation that you were RIGHT all along :p
