First things first, I am not from Pittsburgh. I’ve only been to that city on a few different occasions for day trips, but even within that short amount of time, I’ve been highly influenced by its creative, avant-garde vibe. This outfit was inspired by Pittsburgh as a whole: the contrasting teal and orange colors pay homage to the pop art filled Andy Warhol Museum, the wrapped turban headscarf represents the African heritage represented in the African-American district, and the Confucius pendant necklace symbolizes the array of historical artwork in the Carnegie Museum of Art. As a whole, my personal style constantly takes a Pittsburgh-ian philosophy; different clothing genres and fashion elements are melded together to produce a single individualistic style. Pittsburgh may be renowned as a haven for eclectic artists, but more importantly to me, it is a haven for eclectic fashionistas.
