I’ve been seeing longer skirts with dowdy sweaters everywhere lately and suddenly it dawned on me that I love that look, so of course I had to try it for myself. I’ve also grown to love ton sur ton looks so dark red and bright red looks so yummy to me, like a strawberry cake with… ketchup. Okey that sounds horrible but the colors match dude. I also put some curlz in ma hairz again, I love these messy textures. I totally adhere to the cliché (can “adhere” even be used here?) that slick haired girls want girls and vice versa. My super straight hair just looks too sweet on me. I have quite a lot of hair, but it’s really fine so texture and volume are sort of hard to achieve for me. I just throw in some mousse and not comb my hair, which seems to have been working for me lately. Still thinking about that perm though.
Anyway, this outfit with the beret totally rang Faye Dunaway as Bonnie from Bonnie and Clyde to me. I love Faye’s style in that movie, and she’s just plain gorgeous of course. This is such an easy look to try out for yourself: just grab a slightly longer, slightly chunky sweater and a longish skirt that is neither wide nor too tight and wear the two together, cinching in the waist with a fine belt et voila. I like my striped shirt peeking out at the sleeves.
Oh, and my boyfriend and me finally got around to decorating that monstrosity of a christmas tree. I should probably call it a monstrositree. You might not gather this from my sophisticated every day looks, but I’m actually quite a fan of a bit of holiday kitsch. I’ve draped this silvery guirlande over our TV because I love my christmas madness to be EVERYWHERE. Hop over to my blog for some pictures of the tree! I’ll be taking some better ones of it all decorated today. I love love love love my christmastree, it’s the most epic christmastree I’ve ever had probably.
Anyway, hope you love the look! And I’ve totally been into The Like as of late. I prefer their old songs though, all ethereal and a tiny bit grungy at the same time, love!
