Yesterday there was no snow on the ground, and today my boots are sinking in it. This is a TRUE WONDERLAND! It’s even snowing in the pictures. (I love snowy weekends the most because you don’t have to worry about getting to class)!
My favorite winter outfit this season consists of old favorites and exciting new finds! This is my all-time favorite coat not only because of how warm and vintage it is (not even because of the adorable bow in the back), but because it was a birthday gift from my old roommate who graduated. So I get to think about her and how she knows me so well every time I wear it! I love to layer tights in the winter since it’s extra cold, and lace over colors can add a very festive touch. This hat and these boots are very classic and understated to go with the bold coat, necklace, festive belt and tights. And, the wondrous new dress in this outfit is a CHIC REWARD I just redeemed! So obviously all those hard-earned chicpoints spent make it one of my favorite pieces!
I plan on wearing this ensemble to my chorus’ holiday caroling party. I’ll be chic at the party in my new dress and fancy accessories, but when it’s time to sing for the neighbors, this coat is truly the warmest I could ask for.
The spirit of what makes winter outfits so great to me, are the little details that make trudging through snow a little more tolerable. Even though sometimes I’d rather be in with a cup of hot chocolate, when I go out with a bow on my back, some eye-catching tights on my legs, or a snuggly beret, suddenly “inclement” turns to “wonderland” very fast! Plus, with enough snow you always look like you’re on your way to Narnia instead of class. :-)
