Hello chictopians! How are you all doing? I hope better than me. Yesterday didn’t go so well. Aside from losing my voice for two singing engagements and being sick, the day was topped off with the ruin of my camera. Long story short, my bag got soaked coz there was a leakage from the water bottle inside my bag :( I know, its so stupid (both the incident and I). I was lucky enough to save the memory card though…This and another outfit were the last two things my camera took.
I really am sad because my camera has been with me since summer of 2007. It took a lot of great pictures. It wasn’t an SLR but it sure gave justice to my outfit posts to say the least. My mom and I were talking about getting an SLR, but I was with every intention still planning to keep my trusty point and shoot. I was crying like an idiot about it to my mother when I got home. Can’t believe I lost my camera just like that. Sorry if I sound shallow to some, but my camera never let me down. In that sense, it was a very good ‘friend’ to me. Thankfully, my parents are very helpful about it. My dad might accompany me later to a shop to get it fixed. I’m hoping no permanent damage was done.
Anyway, as the hopeful person that I am…I’m trying not to get stuck in my situation. So let’s talk about this outfit. NO its not my usual get-up…not even my first choice of style to be honest. However, I figured that I wanted to try something different or less “safe.” I wore this dress as a costume for our engagement. Since we were singing for the first birthday party of the son of a Glee Club alumnus, the costume was spring casual (solid bright colors). Just fit for the cute baby Rhys (pronounced “reese”). I got this dress on sale from Topshop. I’m not usually into tailored items, but the color just drew me in. I cannoooot resist orange that looked this good! The dress as pretty as it already is, I wanted to try it with some pink tights that I haven’t worn yet. I know right, COLOR EXPLOSION. Well I have always been fond of pink and orange together. Not in clothing perhaps, but the combination attracts me. I decided to tame it with ivory heels :) Sadly, I couldn’t wear the tights to the engagement itself because the color was too much to blend in with the rest of the choir! hahaha oh well. Choral singing doesn’t allow stick-outs :P
Here’s to color (and to my camera’s quick recovery)
see ya guys!
