Texas is full of surprises! Ever since my move here in August, I’m slowly finding a niche and finding peace again.
For Thanksgiving, my family went down to Houston to spend time with my grandparents that live in south Houston. On actual Thanksgiving day, we drove to Port Arthur for the meal totaling about 20 family members on my mother’s side. I actually met a few of them for the first time!
On Black Friday, we were just driving back to Austin. We all generally don’t shop on this day so it wasn’t even considered. However, my dad found a store the last time he was in Houston (Surprise! Since my father hates shopping the most out of all of us, I probably like it the most ;) .) and he wanted us to all go by.
It is called the Texas Junk Company. And it is awesome!
There are all kind of fun thrift/vintage finds throughout this crazy big store but the best? The boot selection! Cowboy boots are such a staple around here, people wear them all the time. I would have some if they weren’t so expensive/ I wasn’t so broke. But anyway, I found these cute booties in GREAT condition and they’re real leather. They were 35 dollars, a more expensive thrift find but a great one- these are going to last me a whiiiiiile. Compared to their probably original retail price of maybe 100 to 200 bucks! I love their color and durability, I have so many outfits I want to wear with them!
Two other things, I made this dress and I got a hair cut :)
I’m so happy to finally post on chictopia again, I LOVE THIS PLACE!
